Why open source
The software presented here has public code, developed by communities, companies and European public bodies. No one can take away your use of it, charge for every new user or change the rules for you. Microsoft raised Microsoft 365 prices in July 2026 and is removing SharePoint passcode sharing in October 2026. With open source software, these decisions are yours.
Public administrations have made this choice. The French interministerial digital directorate (DINUM) builds La Suite numérique, with Docs, Visio, Tchap and Fichiers, for State staff. On 8 April 2026, it announced the move of its computers to Linux and asked every ministry for a plan to reduce dependence on non-European vendors. The German state of Schleswig-Holstein has moved nearly 80% of its computers to LibreOffice, and the city of Échirolles is installing Zorin OS on its staff computers.
An improvement funded by one organisation benefits all the others. Hebeko contributes to several open source projects, including Sécurix and the deployment tools of La Suite numérique. We install this software on servers rented in your name in France. The data and the configuration belong to you, and another provider can take over the service.
